PWHL Hamilton Secures Kayle Osborne with Three-Year Contract

PWHL Hamilton has announced a significant contract acquisition, securing goaltender Kayle Osborne for three years. This agreement comes ahead of the team’s inaugural 2026-27 season. Osborne’s contract will extend through the 2028-29 campaign and marks her as the second of five players signed during the ongoing Phase 2 of the PWHL’s Expansion Roster Distribution Process.

Kayle Osborne’s Career Highlights

Kayle Osborne, 24, hails from Westport, Ontario. She was chosen by the New York Sirens in the fifth round as the 28th overall pick during the 2024 PWHL Draft. In her rookie season, she played 10 games, but her performance notably improved in the following season, where she became New York’s primary starter, participating in 27 out of 30 games.

During the 2025-26 season, Osborne achieved impressive stats:

  • Save Percentage: .906
  • Goals-Against Average: 2.47
  • Wins: 11 (Ranked 4th in PWHL)
  • Shutouts: 4 (Ranked 3rd in PWHL)

She has five career shutouts, placing her tied for third in PWHL history. Additionally, Osborne made her Olympic debut as Canada’s third goaltender at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan.

Upcoming Expansion Phase Details

The signing of Osborne follows another Phase 2 contract acquisition of forward Brianne Jenner. This phase started on June 5 at 12 p.m. ET and will close on June 8 at 1 p.m. ET. It allows each expansion team, like PWHL Hamilton, to establish their rosters by acquiring five players from a pre-selected list.

During this process, existing teams can lose a maximum of three contracted players for the 2026-27 season. Only athletes listed on the expansion team’s initial 20-player Exclusive Negotiation Target List are eligible for signing in Phase 2.
