OHL Bulldogs Appoint Michael Babcock, Son of Mike, as New Coach

The Brantford Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League have appointed Michael Babcock as their new head coach. At 31 years old, he is the youngest and sixth coach in the franchise’s history. This announcement was made on Friday.
Coaching Transition
Babcock replaces Jay McKee, who is now the head coach of the American Hockey League’s Hamilton Hammers, set to begin their inaugural season. Under McKee, the Bulldogs achieved a remarkable record of 48-10-10, finishing with the best record in the OHL last season. Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the Eastern Conference Final, losing to the Barrie Colts after leading the series 3-1.
Michael Babcock’s Qualifications
General Manager Spencer Hyman expressed confidence in Babcock’s leadership. In a statement, he emphasized Babcock’s relentless competitive spirit, superior communication skills, and passion for hockey. Hyman noted that Babcock’s commitment to player development and ability to connect with athletes will be instrumental in nurturing talent within the Bulldogs organization.
