Hadjar Frustrated After Missing Top Three in Canadian Qualifying

Isack Hadjar expressed disappointment after missing a spot in the top three during the Canadian Grand Prix Qualifying. The French driver felt he “threw it all away” with a final position of seventh place, despite having strong performances earlier in the session.
Canadian Grand Prix Qualifying: A Day of Mixed Emotions
Hadjar showcased impressive speed in both Q1 and Q2 at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. In Q2, he even topped the timesheets, suggesting that Red Bull’s performance had significantly improved from the previous day’s Sprint.
Challenges in Q3
However, the final segment of Qualifying did not go as planned. Hadjar faced difficulties and finished behind his teammate, Max Verstappen. He acknowledged his mistakes, stating, “I made a mistake on the first run of Q3, and I couldn’t really have a good reference heading into that final lap.” This setback left him frustrated.
Hadjar reflected on the potential that slipped away, saying, “It’s really a shame because it’s the first time this year we’ve had such a good car.” He emphasized the importance of improving his performance to capitalize on his team’s advancements.
Looking Ahead
Despite the frustration, Hadjar recognized the progress made by Red Bull entering the Qualifying session. He mentioned the need to understand the reasons behind the improved pace compared to previous outings. “That’s definitely positive, but then on the other hand I should have been in that top three and I didn’t,” he added.
Hadjar faced additional challenges during the race weekend, having retired early from the Sprint race due to a car issue, only to rejoin at the back of the field later. His experiences highlight both the highs and lows of racing, as he prepares to learn and come back stronger.
