UK Travel Giant Liquidates, Cancels All Bookings

The UK travel industry has recently faced significant turmoil as Regen Central Ltd, a travel agency known for its flight and hotel packages, has entered liquidation and canceled all bookings. Founded in Hertfordshire in 2009, the company operated under various brands, including Regen Travels and Oneworld Travels. The agency had a strong focus on destinations across Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, particularly catering to Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage trips.
Liquidation Announcement
Regen Central Ltd lost its Air Travel Organiser’s Licence (ATOL 11020) on January 13, 2026, which prompted its liquidation and cessation of trading. Consequently, all future trips promised by the agency have now been canceled.
Impact on Customers
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has confirmed that no refunds will be issued for bookings made through Regen Central Ltd, as there were no outstanding ATOL-protected bookings. The authority stated:
- “Bookings sold as accommodation only, non-flight packages, and ticketed flight-only bookings are not protected by the ATOL scheme.”
- This means many customers may find themselves without any financial recourse for their canceled travel plans.
Customers who believe they are owed refunds for ATOL-protected bookings are advised to reach out to the CAA via email. However, many of the non-flight packages and accommodation-only bookings will not be covered under the ATOL regulations.
Broader Industry Challenges
This incident highlights ongoing challenges within the UK travel sector. Alongside Regen Central Ltd’s issues, notable high street brands like The Original Factory Shop have also faced severe financial difficulties. After entering administration earlier this year, TOFS has closed all its UK stores, marking a significant shift in the retail landscape.
As travelers navigate these changes, it remains crucial to stay informed about the status of travel bookings and the potential impact of these liquidations on future travel plans.
