More Pasta Recalled Amid Deadly Listeria Outbreak

As a severe listeria outbreak impacts the food industry, a nationwide recall of prepared pasta products has been issued. This outbreak has linked at least 20 sicknesses and resulted in four fatalities across the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Details of the Listeria Outbreak

The CDC has identified cases related to the outbreak in 15 different states, with Texas reporting the highest number. Various retailers, including Walmart and Trader Joe’s, have issued warnings about their pasta products.

Recent Pasta Recalls

Among the latest recalls is Scott & Jon’s Shrimp Scampi with Linguini Pasta Bowls, which weighs 9.6 ounces. Although there have been no illnesses reported from consuming this specific product, it is included in the recall due to listeria concerns linked to pasta supplied by Nate’s Fine Foods.

Important Best-By Dates

The recalled product includes best-by dates as follows:

  • March 12, 2027
  • March 13, 2027
  • March 17, 2027
  • March 21, 2027

Additional Products Affected

Kroger has also added specific deli pasta salads to its recall list. These salads were sold between August 29, 2025, and October 2, 2025. A larger recall of pasta linked to Nate’s Fine Foods was first announced in June 2025, with no indication if more brands will be affected.
