Winter Storm Set to Hit Quebec with Rain and a Thaw

Quebec residents should prepare for a significant winter storm set to impact the province, starting Sunday. The storm may bring up to 30 centimeters of snow in certain areas, followed by a thaw and rainfall on Monday.
Winter Storm Forecast for Quebec
This considerable weather system is expected to sweep across Quebec early in the week. An official winter storm warning is in effect from Western Quebec to the Côte-Nord, as stated by Environment Canada meteorologist Guillaume Perron.
Snow Accumulation and Rain Forecast
Snowfall will commence by Sunday afternoon and continue into Monday. Potential snow accumulation ranges between 15 and 30 centimeters in various locations. This winter storm will be accompanied by a notable warm-up, transitioning snow to rain in some regions.

Temperatures could exceed 10 °C in many southern regions, while northern cities like Val-d’Or may sit just above freezing, around 1 to 3 °C.
Return of Cold Weather
Once this weather system passes, a significant drop in temperatures is expected on Tuesday. This will lead to notably colder conditions, particularly on Wednesday morning, with nighttime lows dipping below -10 °C in much of the province. Some northern regions, such as Abitibi, may witness temperatures plummeting to around -20 °C.
Additional Weather System Expected
A weaker weather system may arrive on Thursday, bringing a few centimeters of snow. In southern areas, these snowy conditions could mix with rain.
