Daddy Pig to Race in TCS London Marathon for Deaf Children’s Society

Daddy Pig is set to participate in the TCS London Marathon on April 26, 2026, marking a significant event for the beloved character and raising awareness for the National Deaf Children’s Society. This initiative comes after the announcement that George Pig, his son, is moderately deaf.
Support for Deaf Children
The aim of Daddy Pig’s marathon run is to raise £54,000 for the approximately 54,000 children in the UK who are impacted by hearing loss. He will don a specially designed running costume for the event, enhancing visibility for children with hearing difficulties.
Community Involvement
- Supporters can follow Daddy Pig’s progress on the TCS London Marathon App.
- A Peppa Pig Fan Zone will celebrate the event, located on Jamaica Road in London.
- The fan zone will include a themed afternoon tea bus and music from a DJ.
George Crockford, CEO of the National Deaf Children’s Society, expressed gratitude for Daddy Pig’s efforts. He emphasized the importance of funding for resources that assist families navigating childhood deafness.
Runner Participation
Over 50 additional runners from the National Deaf Children’s Society will join Daddy Pig. Among these is Jack Harrison, a father from Stoke-on-Trent, whose 17-month-old son George was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss shortly after birth. Jack appreciates the support provided by the Society.
Special Appearances
On April 25, the day before the marathon, Daddy Pig and the Peppa Pig family will participate in the TCS Mini London Marathon, aimed at inspiring children and families. This event, occurring at St James’s Park, will host various Peppa Pig themed activities, enriching the experience for young attendees.
Peppa Pig’s Inclusive Message
Peppa Pig is known for promoting inclusive storytelling through characters representing diverse backgrounds and abilities. A recent survey indicated that 98% of parents with hearing-impaired children value representation in children’s media. This highlights the significance of showcasing George’s story, both on screen and in real life.
Education Initiatives
Schools have the opportunity to participate in the TCS Mini London Marathon virtually, allowing children to engage in running activities until May 1. Resources have been prepared for these schools to encourage participation and awareness.
