Jessee Earns CUSA Player of the Week Honors

Liberty University’s redshirt junior catcher, Savannah Jessee, received the prestigious title of Conference USA (CUSA) Softball Player of the Week, as announced on Monday. This marks the first time Jessee has earned this honor in her collegiate career.
Historic Recognition
Jessee’s achievement is notable as she becomes the first catcher from Liberty to receive this accolade since Caroline Hudson, who was recognized on March 6, 2023, while playing in the ASUN Conference.
Outstanding Performance at the Liberty Softball Classic
During the Liberty Softball Classic, Jessee played a crucial role in leading the Lady Flames to a successful 3-1 record, which included two impressive victories against Power Four opponents.

Game Highlights
Jessee kicked off the weekend with a strong performance against Toledo, going 2-for-4 with two RBI in a 7-2 victory. She then achieved her first career four-hit game against Syracuse, with a perfect 4-for-4 batting line that included two doubles along with one RBI and one run.
On Saturday, her contributions continued with a 1-for-4 outing against Maryland, where she recorded another double, one RBI, and a run in a close 3-2 win. Later that evening, she excelled again, going 2-for-4 while driving in three runs and scoring once in a decisive 7-0 shutout over Syracuse, highlighting her season’s first home run—a three-run shot that gave Liberty a 3-0 lead in the second inning.
Season Overview
Currently, Savannah Jessee leads the Lady Flames with an outstanding .372 batting average. She is also tied for the team lead in RBIs with a total of 10.
Upcoming Schedule
The Lady Flames, who currently hold a 5-9 record, will continue their 12-game homestand this week. They are set to host the Liberty Softball Invitational, which includes:
