Body Recovered from Thames River in Harris Park Friday Morning

On Friday morning, the London Police Service (LPS) responded to a report of a body recovered from the Thames River in Harris Park. The call came in shortly before 9 a.m. from a citizen who noticed a suspected deceased individual in the water.

Investigation Underway

Upon arrival, officers confirmed the presence of the body and determined that the person was deceased. By 10 a.m., several emergency vehicles were still stationed at the site as police launched an investigation. Authorities stated that the investigation is in its preliminary stages, with more updates expected soon.

Safety Precautions Recommended

The Thames River and other bodies of water in the area have seen increased levels recently. This surge results from warm weather and rainfall that have melted much of this year’s snowpack. The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority has issued a warning to the public regarding safety near water sources.

  • Use caution near streams, rivers, ditches, and ponds.
  • Avoid any dangerous areas, particularly over the weekend and into early next week.

More information about the incident will be provided as the police continue their investigation into the body recovered from the Thames River in Harris Park.
