BMC Blacklists Production House for Repeated ‘Dhurandhar 2’ Set Violations

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced the permanent blacklisting of B62 Studios, the production house behind the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge, on February 17, 2026. This decision follows repeated safety violations associated with the filming of the sequel to the 2025 hit film Dhurandhar.

BMC Action Against B62 Studios

The action was initiated after BMC officials noted a series of violations related to safety terms on the film set. As part of this decision, the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC) of Zone I has prohibited B62 Studios from obtaining any further filming permissions from the Maharashtra Film, Stage and Cultural Development Corporation Limited.

Involved Parties and Violations

  • B62 Studios, directed by Aditya Dhar.
  • Applicants included Komal Pokhriyal and Nasir Khan.

The violations included filming on a building terrace and utilizing generator vans without proper permissions. A penalty of Rs 1 lakh has been imposed for the infractions, along with the forfeiture of a Rs 25,000 deposit that was submitted by the production house.

Timeline of Events

Key dates related to the violations include:

  • February 7-8, 2026: Initial filming dates were flagged for safety violations.
  • February 14, 2026: Complaints arose regarding the use of flammable materials during a shoot.

Despite assurances from the production team that no flammable materials would be used, complaints to the Mumbai police resulted in the seizure of five burning torches on set. This incident further justified the BMC’s decision to blacklist B62 Studios and its affiliates.

Regulatory Measures

The BMC is committed to enforcing safety regulations on film sets, particularly those that could endanger residents. The authority has stated it will issue formal notices to the blacklisted parties and share this information with the Maharashtra film cell and BMC’s Business Cell head.

As the local film industry navigates stringent safety protocols, authorities are emphasizing their commitment to public safety above all else. The BMC’s actions signify a serious stance against repeated violations and set a precedent for future productions to adhere to safety regulations.
