Shakira Sparks Euphoria in El Salvador Ahead of Concerts

Shakira has ignited excitement among her fans in El Salvador ahead of her much-anticipated concerts. The Colombian superstar will perform in San Salvador as part of her tour, “Las mujeres ya no lloran.” Local enthusiasts have prepared a vibrant mural to celebrate her arrival.
Concert Details
Shakira’s concerts will be held at the Jorge “Mágico” González Stadium, located in the western part of San Salvador. This venue is expected to accommodate around 30,000 spectators. Concert dates are set for February 7, 8, 12, 14, and 15, 2026.
Mural Tribute
A stunning mural of the artist is prominently displayed near the stadium. Efraín Orellana, a 36-year-old graffiti artist, created this piece as a tribute to Shakira. It features elements tied to El Salvador, including:
- The country’s map
- The monument to the national patron, Divino Salvador del Mundo
- The national bird, torogoz
Local Commerce and Community Impact
Local businesses have also embraced Shakira’s visit. Juan Henríquez, a craftsman from Merliot, is producing shirts emblazoned with her image. He mentioned the vibrant atmosphere surrounding her arrival, calling it “a huge excitement.”
Marcos López, a local vendor, is selling hats, caps, and flags featuring Shakira. He expressed gratitude, noting that her concerts provide opportunities for local commerce. “We feel appreciated as a country,” he stated.
Economic Outlook
The Salvadoran government anticipates that Shakira’s performances will bolster tourism. Officials project that about 88% of concert attendees will be locals, while the remaining 12% will be tourists from abroad.
