Fight Canceled Just Hours Before UFC 324 Event

UFC 324 has faced another setback just hours before the highly anticipated event. The lightweight fight between Alexander Hernandez and Michael Johnson has been removed from the fight card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The UFC did not provide a reason for this cancellation.
Irregular Betting Patterns Raise Concerns
Bookmakers had noted unusual betting patterns related to the Hernandez-Johnson matchup. BetOnline reported a reduction in betting limits for this fight. According to Dave Mason from BetOnline, this decision was made to ensure the protection of both bettors and the establishment. Prop bets for the fight were also scrapped.
Previous Controversy in the UFC
Last year, fighter Isaac Dulgarian was released from the UFC following a controversial match that involved strange betting line movements. He experienced a knockout in the first round against Yadier del Valle at UFC Vegas 110. In light of the situation, UFC CEO Dana White stated that authorities were contacted regarding the matter. Dulgarian remains under suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission as investigations continue.
UFC 324 Continues Despite Challenges
Despite losing two fights, UFC 324 will still feature 11 bouts on its fight card. In a separate incident, bantamweight Cameron Smotherman collapsed during the official weigh-ins after successfully making weight, leading to another fight being pulled from the event.
Main Event Highlights
The UFC’s first event under the Paramount banner will see Justin Gaethje face Paddy Pimblett for the interim lightweight championship.
