ICE Agent Recovers After Slipping on Ice During Colorado Operation, Sheriff Reports

On Tuesday morning, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent experienced a fall on ice during an operation in southwestern Colorado. This incident prompted a response from the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office was alerted to the medical emergency at approximately 7:50 a.m. A deputy quickly arrived at the scene to ensure the safety of all individuals involved, including citizens, medical personnel, and fellow law enforcement officers. Archuleta County Sheriff Mike Le Roux confirmed that medical personnel were able to assist the injured agent.

Archuleta County is located in southwestern Colorado and shares a border with New Mexico. This region encompasses various communities such as:

Notably, ICE deployed around 3,000 agents to the Minneapolis region for immigration enforcement operations in recent weeks. This influx of personnel has been met with protests in Minnesota, Colorado, and across the United States, largely triggered by recent controversial actions involving ICE agents.

As for the incident involving the ICE agent in Archuleta County, it was deemed resolved after medical assistance was rendered, and no further action was required by the sheriff’s office.
