Weather Alert: Snow on Sunday, Dangerous Cold on Tuesday

Winter weather is on the horizon for central Maryland. A series of weather alerts, particularly for snow on Sunday and dangerously cold temperatures on Tuesday, have been issued.

Weather Alerts Overview

The first alert day is set for Sunday. Initially, light showers are expected on Saturday, paving the way for colder conditions. These cold temperatures will support snow development throughout the day on Sunday.

Snow Forecast

Winter weather advisories are currently in effect for several areas in central Maryland. Expected snowfall includes:

  • General accumulation of 1-2 inches.
  • Higher amounts possibly reaching the Eastern Shore.

Snow showers are projected to begin overnight and persist into Sunday afternoon. The I-95 corridor and neighboring regions will likely experience a heavier concentration of snow showers.

Dangerous Cold on Tuesday

As snow dissipates, attention will shift to the dangerous cold expected on Tuesday. A surge of frigid air will arrive, leading to:

  • Wind chill values dropping below zero in certain areas.
  • Daytime temperatures remaining in the 20s.

Residents are advised to stay informed about these weather changes and prepare adequately for the winter conditions ahead. More moderate temperatures may arrive in the middle of the following week.
