Construction Disrupts Most MTA Subway Lines from Late Friday Night

Significant service disruptions will affect most subway lines in New York City this weekend, as announced by the MTA. These changes will take effect from late Friday night and continue until early Monday morning, primarily due to construction and maintenance work.

Subway Lines With No Changes

The following subway lines will not experience any disruptions:

  • F Train
  • M Train
  • Q Train
  • 1 Train
  • 6 Train
  • Franklin Av Shuttle
  • Rockaway Park Shuttle

Details of Major Service Disruptions

Several lines will encounter reroutes, skipped stops, and changes from express to local services. Below is a summary of the key disruptions:

A Train

  • Queens-bound A trains will utilize the F line from Jay Street-MetroTech to West 4th Street, effective Friday at 11:45 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.
  • Uptown A trains will skip stops at Spring St, 23rd St, and 50th St overnight.
  • In Brooklyn, A trains will make local stops at Ralph Av, Rockaway Av, Liberty Av, Van Siclen Av, and Sheperd Av over the weekend.

C Train

  • The C train will not serve Spring St, 23rd St, and 50th St this weekend.
  • Downtown C trains will operate via the F line between West 4th St and Jay Street-MetroTech.

E Train

  • From Friday night until Monday morning, E trains will bypass Spring St and 23rd St.

D Train

  • Coney Island-bound D trains will run via the N line between 36th St and Coney Island-Stillwell Av from Saturday morning until Sunday night.

G Train

  • The G train will operate only between Court Sq-23rd Street and Bedford-Nostrand Avs, starting Friday night until Monday morning.

J Train

  • No J train service will be available between Crescent St and Jamaica Center from late Friday until early Monday.

L Train

  • L trains will not run between Lorimer St and Broadway Junction from Friday night until Monday morning.

N Train

  • Manhattan-bound N trains will skip stops at 30th Av, Broadway, 36th Av, and 39th Av-Dutch Kills during the weekend.

2/3 and 4 Trains

  • The 2 train will not run between Chambers Street and Flatbush Av from Friday night until Monday morning.
  • 5 trains will replace 2 trains on the stretch between E 180th St and Wakefield 241st St.
  • The 3 train service will be suspended, and the 4 train will temporarily replace it during the weekend.

7 Train

  • Flushing-bound 7 trains will skip stops at 82nd St, 90th St, 103rd St, and 111th St, effective from late Friday until early Monday.

Subway riders are advised to plan accordingly and check the MTA’s updates for real-time information regarding service changes over the weekend. These alterations are part of ongoing construction efforts to enhance the subway system.
