January 6 Match: Projected Lineup Against Dallas
The Carolina Hurricanes are set to welcome back forward Seth Jarvis for their upcoming game against the Dallas Stars. Jarvis, sidelined since December 19 due to a rib injury sustained in Florida, participated in morning skate without any contact restrictions and appeared ready for action. At 23 years old, he currently leads the Hurricanes with 19 goals this season.
Projected Lineup Against Dallas
Despite Jarvis’ return, he will not immediately join the top line. The trio of Nikolaj Ehlers, Sebastian Aho, and Andrei Svechnikov has been performing exceptionally well, amassing 26 points over the past seven games. To accommodate Jarvis, Mark Jankowski is expected to be a healthy scratch, joining Jesperi Kotkaniemi on the sidelines.

- Charles Alexis Legault: Hand injury – out for 3-4 months (from November 11)
- Jaccob Slavin: Upper-body injury – week-to-week (as of December 22; returned to practice January 6)
Brandon Bussi has been impressive this season, showcasing a record of 14 wins, 1 loss, and 2 overtime losses in his first 17 NHL games. He notably excelled in his last appearance, stopping 28 of 29 shots to secure a victory. Meanwhile, Jaccob Slavin skated in a no-contact jersey during practice but is not yet ready to return to the lineup. Head coach Rod Brind’Amour mentioned that there is still no updated timeline for Slavin’s return.
Power Play Strategy
Jordan Staal has been taking faceoffs for the first power play unit alongside Ehlers, Aho, Jarvis, and Svechnikov. If Staal wins the faceoff, he remains on the ice until the puck exits the zone at which point Ehlers takes his place.
