Meteorologists Warn: Four Weather Phenomena Threaten Early 2026 Conditions

The General Authority for Meteorology in Egypt has issued its weather forecast for the period from December 29, 2025, to January 2, 2026. The predictions indicate extremely cold weather in the early morning, with a tendency for warming during the day. However, nighttime temperatures will remain very low across most regions.

Morning Fog Advisory

There is a significant likelihood of morning fog from 3:00 AM to 10:00 AM. This will affect several roads leading to and from northern parts of the country, including Greater Cairo, Central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt. The fog may be dense at times, requiring drivers to exercise caution.

Rainfall Expectations

Light to moderate rains are expected on December 29 in various regions of the northern coasts and northern Delta. These showers will be intermittent and may disrupt outdoor activities.

Windy Conditions and Maritime Disruption

The Mediterranean Sea will experience turbulent conditions in certain areas, such as Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Damietta, Port Said, Arish, and Rafah. Wind speeds are anticipated to range from 40 to 60 km/h, with wave heights reaching 2.5 to 3.5 meters.
