North Texas Teams Compete for Football State Championships

High school football teams in North Texas are gearing up for a pivotal weekend as they strive for state championships. These events will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington during the 2025-2026 Football State Championships. Several teams are making headlines, fighting for prestigious titles across various divisions.
Competing Teams from North Texas
- Gordon High School: The Longhorns achieved a resounding victory over the Rankin Red Devils, winning 69-22 in the Conference 1A Six-Man Division 1 championship. This victory marks Gordon’s third consecutive state title and holds significant meaning following a devastating tornado that impacted their community earlier this year.
- Muenster High School: Muenster demonstrated their prowess by shutting out Shiner 28-0 in the Conference 2A Division 2 championship. With a 13-2 season record, they handed Shiner their first defeat this season.
- Grandview High School: Unfortunately, Grandview fell short against Yoakum, losing 45-29 in the Conference 3A Division 1 championship. They concluded the season with a 13-2 record and were aiming for their third state title.
- Stephenville High School: The Yellow Jackets are set to clash with Kilgore on Friday at 11 a.m. for the Conference 4A Division 1 title. They seek to maintain an unbeaten record and secure their seventh state title against the 14-1 Kilgore Bulldogs.
- Frisco Lone Star High School: Lone Star is scheduled to face Comal Smithson Valley at 7 p.m. on Friday in the Conference 5A Division 1 championship. The team aims for a perfect season and their first-ever state title.
- Dallas South Oak Cliff High School: The Golden Bears will encounter Richmond Randle at 11 a.m. on Saturday for the Conference 5A Division 2 championship. This marks their fifth consecutive appearance in the title game, a feat achieved by only six other UIL teams historically.
- Duncanville High School: The Panthers will compete against Galena Park North Shore at 3 p.m. on Saturday for the Conference 6A Division 1 title. Duncanville, with a 12-1 record, is vying for their fourth state championship in seven years against North Shore’s 13-2 season.
- DeSoto High School: The Eagles will meet Sheldon King at 7 p.m. on Saturday for the Conference 6A Division 2 championship. After beating Southlake Carroll, DeSoto is determined to achieve their fourth state title as they challenge King, who has a 13-2 record.
These matchups highlight the intensity and competitive spirit of North Texas high school football as teams aim for state championships and legacy-building moments.
