Gov. Beshear Unveils $42M Battery Plant in Louisville, Creating 110 Jobs

A new advanced materials and battery manufacturing facility is set to open in Louisville, Kentucky, significantly boosting the local economy. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced this development, which involves a $42 million investment from Anthro Energy, Inc. The project is expected to create 110 full-time jobs, along with approximately 390 construction roles.

Details of the New Battery Plant

This facility marks Anthro Energy’s first operation in Kentucky. The primary focus will be on advanced electrolyte production. The company has innovated a proprietary injectable phase-change electrolyte, versatile enough for various battery applications, including consumer electronics, automotive, and defense sectors.

Production Capacity and Job Opportunities

The Louisville facility aims to produce over 12,000 metric tons of electrolyte annually. This scale of production will lead to the creation of various high-skilled positions. Job opportunities will include:

  • Production manufacturing technicians
  • Process and control engineers
  • Facility managers
  • Accounting roles
  • Maintenance and warehouse technicians
