In a recent interview with El-Balad ahead of the World Darts Championship, Hoy discussed the severity of his injury. “I’ve smashed up my leg on the mountain bike,” he stated. Hoy elaborated on the challenges of recovering from such a crash, particularly at his age. “You just don’t bounce like you do when you’re younger,” he admitted.

Despite the injury, Hoy remains optimistic about his recovery. He expressed hope to be more mobile by January 3, when he plans to attend the Darts final. “I’m still on crutches, hobbling about, but I’m doing better now,” he shared.
