Ole Miss Football Strengthens Staff by Hiring Key SEC Rival Member

Ole Miss Football is bolstering its coaching staff with the recruitment of Kelvin Bolden, a notable figure in the SEC. Bolden, who previously served as the Assistant General Manager at LSU, is returning to Ole Miss after a brief stint in Baton Rouge.
Kelvin Bolden’s Background
Bolden, a native of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, played as a wide receiver at both Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Southern Miss. During his college career, he recorded 104 receptions, totaling 1,393 yards and achieving 13 touchdowns. He graduated from Southern Miss in 2011.
Career Progression
After completing his playing career, Bolden transitioned into coaching and recruitment. His coaching journey included roles at:
- UCF as the Wide Receiver Assistant Coach and Director of Recruiting Relations
- Florida as Assistant Director of Player Personnel in 2021
- Arkansas as a Graduate Assistant
At Ole Miss, he served for three seasons as the Coordinator of Recruiting Strategy, where he made significant contributions to the program. In February 2025, he was recognized by On3 Sports as one of college football’s ‘off-field recruiting stars’ for the cycle.
Return to Ole Miss
Bolden reunites with Austin Thomas, who played a pivotal role in his initial recruitment to Ole Miss in 2022. Thomas facilitated Bolden’s move to LSU, where he joined the coaching staff ahead of the 2025 season. After just one year with the Tigers, Bolden is now set to rejoin the Ole Miss staff.
Impact on Ole Miss Football
As a key player in the recruitment strategy, Bolden’s expertise is expected to enhance Ole Miss’s efforts on the recruiting front. Under his guidance, the Rebels secured Key SEC Rival members and achieved an impressive ranking of No. 19 in the On3 recruiting class for 2025. With his proven track record, Bolden is prepared to make a lasting impact in Oxford.
Honors and Recognition
In 2020, Kelvin Bolden was inducted into the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Athletics Hall of Fame. He followed up with an induction into the Ocean Springs Sports Hall of Fame in 2023. These accolades highlight his contributions both on and off the field.
As Bolden prepares for his new role, it is clear that the Ole Miss Rebels aim to leverage his experience and skills to strengthen their program in the competitive landscape of college football.
