Georgia Harrison Recalls ‘Fun’ Interaction with Prince William at MBE Ceremony

Reality star Georgia Harrison recently shared her experiences during the MBE ceremony, where she received her medal from Prince William. The event took place at Windsor Castle in October. Harrison, aged 30, rose to fame as a former cast member of TOWIE and Love Island’s third season in 2017.

Championing Women’s Safety and Privacy

Georgia has actively advocated for women’s and girls’ safety. This commitment stems from her personal ordeal involving an ex-partner who unlawfully shared intimate videos online. In 2021, she surrendered her anonymity for a legal trial that resulted in the conviction of Stephen Bear. He was sentenced to 21 months in prison for voyeurism and the distribution of private images. Bear was released from HMP Brixton in 2024 after serving 10.5 months.

Following Bear’s sentencing, Harrison joined a protest organized by the domestic violence charity Refuge. The protest aimed to demand better protections for women and children within the Online Safety Bill.

The MBE Ceremony Experience

Georgia was recognized in the King’s Birthday Honours list for her significant contributions to raising awareness about cybercrime and online privacy violations. During her appearance on the ITV show Loose Women, she described receiving her MBE medal as a “magical moment.”

While speaking about her encounter with Prince William, Georgia recounted her excitement. She expressed joy at being able to tell her daughter, Sahara, about meeting the future king. She commented on the prince’s commanding presence and detailed how the royal protocol was explained prior to meeting him.

A Memorable Interaction

Georgia revealed that during their conversation, Prince William acknowledged her bravery and the importance of her work. He asked for her thoughts on necessary changes to enhance online safety for women and children. Harrison appreciated the opportunity to share her insights that could impact the future.

In a light-hearted moment, she mentioned tripping while attempting to curtsey, which caused the prince to laugh. Georgia found this interaction delightful, humorously reflecting on how Prince William might remember her misstep.

A Diverse Reality TV Career

  • Former cast member of TOWIE
  • Participant in Love Island (2017)
  • Competitor in Celebrity Ex On The Beach
  • Winner of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins alongside boxer Lani Daniels

Georgia’s journey extends beyond her reality television fame. Her advocacy for women’s rights and her engagements in various projects highlight her dedication to making a difference. The recognition she received during the MBE ceremony marks a significant milestone in her efforts to combat online abuse.
