Texas Secures 5-Star WR, Snatches 4-Star DE from Baylor

Texas has made significant strides in its recruiting efforts, securing a five-star wide receiver and flipping a four-star defensive end commitment. Coach Steve Sarkisian’s program welcomed Easton Royal, a highly sought-after talent, into its 2027 recruiting class.
Texas Secures 5-Star WR Easton Royal
On November 29, 2025, Easton Royal announced his commitment to the Texas Longhorns. Ranked No. 16 in the ESPN Junior 300, Royal is acknowledged as one of the top prospects in his class. The 6-foot, 195-pound wide receiver hails from New Orleans and plays for Brother Martin High School.
This season, he showcased his talent by recording 53 receptions, 1,151 yards, and 17 touchdowns. Royal chose Texas over a competitive field, including Ole Miss, LSU, and Oregon. His decision to commit came just a day after witnessing Texas’s impressive 27-17 victory over No. 3 Texas A&M.
Texas Snatches 4-Star DE Jamarion Carlton from Baylor
Shortly after Royal’s announcement, Texas flipped the commitment of Jamarion Carlton, a four-star defensive end previously committed to Baylor. Carlton is rated as the No. 96 overall prospect in ESPN’s 2026 class and has been a long-time target for the Longhorns.
His recruitment intensified following multiple visits to Texas, including one during the game against Texas A&M. Carlton’s commitment solidifies his position as the third-ranked defender among the nine ESPN 300 prospects expected to sign with Texas during the upcoming early signing period.
