Toffoli Hosts Sharks Thanksgiving; Smith & Graf Anticipate Turducken Feast

The San Jose Sharks are gearing up for a Thanksgiving celebration, led by forward Tyler Toffoli. This festive gathering will feature a variety of traditional dishes, including multiple turkeys and a unique turducken, all expertly carved by teammate Ryan Reaves.

Thanksgiving Feast Highlights

Will Smith, another Sharks forward, shared details about the feast. He mentioned he is contributing banana bread with chocolate chips, a sweet addition to the meal. Collin Graf expressed his excitement about the turducken, though he admitted he has never tasted one before. He is eager to try it, describing it as a mix of turkey, duck, and chicken.

Plans and Family Traditions

Smith also plans to spend part of his Thanksgiving with Patrick Marleau and his family. Since entering the NHL at 20, Smith has adjusted to spending holidays away from his family. He reminisced about his family’s tradition of playing a 7-on-7 football game every Thanksgiving, saying, “My whole family’s playing a football game right now.”

Graf, on the other hand, noted that as he ages, his experience of being away from family during the holiday becomes easier. He recalled spending one Thanksgiving in Ireland while participating in a tournament. Graf fondly remembers going to his grandmother’s house during the holidays, where the kids would enjoy a Thanksgiving feast and partake in family football games.

Coaching Staff’s Thanksgiving Plans

Coach Ryan Warsofsky confirmed that the coaching staff would not be attending Toffoli’s gathering. Instead, Warsofsky is hosting his own Thanksgiving meal for the coaching staff, continuing the tradition of sharing the holiday with colleagues.

As the Sharks prepare for their Thanksgiving meal, they reflect on the importance of family traditions, even when miles apart. Fans of the San Jose Sharks are encouraged to join in the holiday spirit and enjoy the festive season.
